College is kind of the next step after high school that people are pushed towards. For me that was a problem because I really struggle with writing, and there's a lot of that in college. I'm interested in computer science, but the extra classes are unimportant to me and really prevented me from wanting to go down that path. It's not that I didn't have the motivation to grow up, it's that I didn't really know where to go. Then I (well, my parents...) found a vocational school focused around programming & transitioning into adulthood. Pretty much exactly what I needed.
